"Revealing Science...": brilliant all the way through
"Remembering" and "Ancient": bits of brilliance mixed with what's always sounded like filler. Steve Howe's acoustic solo towards the end of "Ancient," though, is right there with the best work he's ever done.
'Ritual": sometimes brilliant, mostly meh, sometimes genuinely regrettable, especially towards the end when it seems as if everyone is drumming at once.
Eddie Offord did a positively brilliant job of combining various brief bits of tape to form "Close to the Edge" But, he could, and likely should, have been more aggressive about editing the various Tales down to remove the naff parts. Again: all 4 Tales contain bits of brilliance. Had Offord been more insistent about removing self-indulgent sections, the finished product would have benefitted. All of this would have been achieved without disrupting the overall mystical concepts that Anderson + Howe had hoped to express in the 4 Tales.
