I'm a huge fan of spy flicks, especially Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman series, so we went to see this one last weekend and LOVED IT. If you are easily distracted and can't follow a movie, or you are a frequent bathroom visitor, wait for this one to be released on DVD or streaming, because it has multiple twists and turns that will spin you around. It has shades of Bond films, the Kingsman series, and even a little of the Manchurian Candidate. Lots of fun from start to finish, Sam Rockwell was a quirky blast, Bryce Dallas Howard was great as the befuddled espionage writer, and great characters from John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, Henry Cavill, Bryan Cranston and Catherine O'Hara. Don't miss it!

When I saw the first of MANY commercials of this series, I asked myself "This is a SYFY series; how good could this really be?" Boy, was I WRONG! My wife and I have fallen deeply in love with this series! Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE brings their A-Game to this series. From Alan Tudyk, to Sara Tomko's strong yet vulnerable character that you just want to reach into the screen and hug, to Alice Wetterlund's Darcy who alternately hilarious yet sad, to Elizabeth Bowen's Liv, the underappreciated but highly intuitive deputy, to the HILARIOUS Corey Reynolds as Sheriff Mike Thompson's false bravado and ego and the complicated person inside him. Judah Prehn's Max is smart as a whip and funny, as is his friend Gracelyn Awad Rinke as the smart and sassy Sahar! The rest of the cast is also so amazing in all they do, and this series is funny as hell but also being extremely introspective and touching at the same time. This is especially evident with the mayor and his wife and their tenuous relationship. I described this series as a perfect mix of "Mork & Mindy" with "Northern Exposure" to a friend of mine, and he said this was the perfect description of all the great elements of this series. Even down to the incidental music and "borrowed music" is fantastic! I had never heard the song "Nature Boy by Nat King Cole before that series and now I have it in my mix. They can take "Sharing The Night Together" by Dr Hook in the most chaotic scene possible and make it work! Don't delay, watch it today!

Man, I really didn’t like WAKANDA FOREVER. It was disjointed, distracting and incoherent & incohesive. Case in point: Namor is the only “flesh” colored Talokan/Atlantean because he was born that way, & all the other Talokans are blue…. Except for the other flesh colored Talokans when Shuri visits Talokan (???). Also, Namor’s name means “N’Amor” which means no love & is pronounced “Nah-mor”…. WELL, why does everyone else in the movie pronounce it NAYMORE??? I loved Letitia Wright in the first movie, but she seemed awkward in the lead role. RIRI Williams is super annoying too, and the way that Queen Ramonda disrespects Okoye in the Council is horrible. M’Baku was great and a fantastic presence in the film. They also underused Attuma in this film instead of making him a major villain. Unfortunately, with all the arguing & negativity, this was a very dour, depressing film. There is no joy or happiness here. I did like the way that they paid tribute & honored Chadwick Bozeman in the opening Marvel titles & the end of the film. The only ray of hope & joy was in the post credit scene.

As a fan of the 60's series, I have been thrilled watching the exploits of the Tracy family in the new series. Even though billed as a children's show, people of all ages who appreciate sharp writing and character development, pulse pounding entertainment and cheering at the TV will love this series. It's interesting to see how the show has matured technologically, and aesthetically, making the sons so different, giving Grandma Tracy more to do, really exploring how intelligent that Brains really is, and taking The Hood from comic relief to a villain who makes Lex Luthor look like an amateur. I'll be very sad when THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO leaves the airwaves. It's be like saying goodbye to a family who you've known all your life.
