I think the graphics are better than the first BG games, I and II, but they have completely changed the game interfaces and how you move your characters, They changed it to more of a 1st person game, where you are looking at the rest of the environment you are in from your characters eyes. Some people will like that, but I liked the other way, where you had an overhead view of your party. The main thing I dislike is the complete change of the way you interface with the game, I am having to relearn how to control my character. The other thing that I absolutely hate about the new BGIII is that it is not a continuation of the other games. You can not import your character and they have sent you back to being a level 1 character. So, overall, I think that the new users might like it because it has good graphics and looks ,more world of Warcraft like, but people who wanted to continue their saga in the original Baldur's gate world will be disappointed, like I am.
Stephen Wiegman said it best, this is not Baldur's Gate. It has nothing to do with the story of the Bhaal Spawn. It should have been renamed to something else, and starting as a 1st level character after playing hours and hours to get you BGII characters level up make playing this really, really disappointing.
