This show was several years after end of war but looking back, having something to laugh at regarding it was probably very welcoming and therefore appreciated. I watched this as a little kid of 7-8 yrs old, but I really didnโt understand much about WWII. I also didnโt really understand what it meant when others told me that my dad was a hero from that war... that heโd been on the USS Intrepid and as a Navy Pilot dropped bombs in the battles of Pacific. He would not talk about it. So, later when I learned in high school all the atrocities of this war, I stood in awe of my father who was a lifelong farmer before and after war... he never even flew on a commercial airplane for rest of life. My point, enjoy this show! Itโs really funny and clever. Then, if during more serious moments you have a few and you donโt already know, learn what you can about this war. As others have said, โThose who donโt learn their history are doomed to repeat it.โ
