When I was a child we called these “Cowboy and Indian” movies, because, as a child, I did not want a complicated plot, romance, human interest or character development. I just wanted to get to the cool part with protagonists who have to fight it out with bad guys. As an adult I find these kinds of movies a dreary way to spend time or money. Of course I understand that some will laud the effective way humans are sliced and diced but that is not enough for me in a movie.
