Absolutely flawless. The first one hour made me think this is more of a family drama,is not fast paced enough like the first part.But the second half takes you by your breath.You understand how every scene shown has a meaning.In the end the concept of what's right and what's wrong gets blurred.Judgement can't be taken or given by someone else to you,it is what you choose for yourself.Mindblowing movie.Very good storytelling.And Georgekutty-is epic.Cant wait for the third part to come out.Jeetu Josheph yet again proved what cinematic brilliance looks like.

Proper blockbuster. Each and every scene is either a tear jerker or makes you whistle and jump with joy. Fully packed entertainment. Paisa wasool cinema. What Atlee has done for Shah rukh and vice versa perhaps no one could have. The movie questions democracy,farmer suicidies,poor health infrastructure.It has complete women heroines as team. It addresses so many issues like single motherhood,why we should question who we vote.And all of this without sounding preachy even for a second. Shahrukh proved yet again why he is King Khan. Deepika is his lucky mascot. This is a movie which if you dont want in a movie theatre dancing whistling cheering for him you will miss an entire experience. Loved every scene.The farmer abuse and suicide especially made me cry. I hope we get a Vikram Rathod who would actually change the country

Karan Johar should take lessons from Kankana sen sharma,Zoya Akhtar,Reema Kangti on how to make a movie that is against patriarchy but still makes sense. Rocky and Rani seemed like a serial that is made into a film.With horrible pick up lines,bad jokes,over the top acting. But this is exactly what you need to educate the mass. Crassy cheap entertainment that tries to be progressive. The movie is entertaining,no brainer,has few good moments It tries to address a lot of social stigmas but the way it is addressed makes the importance lesser. One time watch movie.

Pratim D Gupta has done a wonderful job when it came to potraying vampire story with a twist,much like his roshogolla mouth freshner. Rumi is beautiful,brave and challenges every streotypical roles. I personally loved the scenes between the parents,between Rumi and Roy. The story is fresh and very entertaining. Kartik and his father Biren's relationship is also a new way of exploring father son intimacy. These were the pros. The cons that I felt was Sreelas death (which was the reason why Rumi wanted to take revenge)was not highlighted enough. In order to make the audience feel the same importance of avenging Sreela's death that Rumi felt the scenes had to be written with more intimate details. Sreela's charecter should have been given few more lines where she would have become endearing to the audience. During shooting her death scene the one shot where she is being decapitated cpuld have been shown as her trying to reach out something,things falling,her crying for help and then dying.Then that would have stayed with the audience. Also the last episode where eternal sunshine memory rubbing scene happened when they decided to deep hyp Roy.The scenes following that should have gone in reverse abrupt.But instead it felt rushed and like a bad editing job. Other than these two places I don't think anything else could have been made better. The cast is very powerful.It is great to see the pioneers of Bengali cinema together.Also Kolkata itself becomes a charecter through Pratims writing. Good job everyone.

Everything was perfect except for the fact that the girl had to give up on her family to be a part of his. This is not right. Marriage is not between two individuals but between 2 families. It is very wrong that the girl has to abandon her parents,leave her own home for so long and adjust with the boy's family. yes the family in this case was great but it would be perfect had mickey actually made a floor for his wife's parents as well. marriage should not mean only the girl sacrificing her people. The way Mickey felt bad to give up on his family when asked ,Tinni felt bad too but her wish was compromised. otherwise entertaining movie. Also I don't supporting normalising hitting me by women as a sign of feminism.If the reverse would have happened there would be a huge hue and cry for it .

I play this game where I write a review just after watching a movie without reading any other's view point. Qala is beauty in melancholy. What struck me first was the colour palette.From the first scene itself it sets the mood for the journey you are about to undertake along with the protagonist. I did find a lot of scenes similar to Black Swan. Cinematography was very different. It is a periodic film and every frame has been crafted with minute detail representative of that era. What sets out in this movie is 1.Amit Trivedi's music 2.Makeup and costume of every character esp Qala and her mother 3.Acting by Tripti,Babil and Swastika. The story is something we have faced or heard many times but the visual representation was beautiful. They say girls get laid to get things done in the industry. The movie shows why. The system is so rigged that the rules are different if you are a female. And this toxic patriarchal habits are more often imposed by women on another woman than men themselves. Babil Khan did make me Irran Sir even more. I would never watch this movie again as it has a sad ending but I would definitely remember this movie for a long time.

South Indian movies have always been a class apart. But this movie takes it to world level. Those who say the writer, director and actor cannot be the same Rishab Shetty just proves them wrong and how. Writing-5/5 Acting-5/5 Cinematography 5/5 Direction 5/5 Not even for a single moment will you be able to take your eyes off screen. It harps on so many issues of casteism without being preachy. Highly entertaining and masterclass movie making. Last 15 mins is something that every movie lover should experience. It is sheer brilliance. Go and watch it guys. Rishabh Shetty take a bow..Wow.

There are three films by Sanjay Leela Bhansali that will stay with me till I die. Black,Hum dil de chuke sanam,Guzarish. Gangubai doesn't make it to that list. Why?Because even though the story was emotional,convincing and brutal painted beautifully in cinematic palettes it failed to bring out sympathy in me. Alia Bhatt is a showstopper.Be it her in Highway,or Udta Punjab or Razi and now this film she has the power to bring out the skin and flesh of the charecter. SLB knows how to make box office hits.Formulaic methods of good sets,powerful dialogues,great costumes and cinematography anyhow make the movie look great but this is not what I find clicking for me personally. The magnanimousity of his movies somehow take away the relatability. Poetry is there in scenes of Barfi too where Ranbir and Priyanka are walking in a jungle with yellow leaves falling over but I did form a bond with Priyanka. Somehow in this movie I don't form a bond with the protagonist. I stay a spectator.And that is where this movie fails for me. I need to feel like a part of the crisis when I watch the movie. Vijay Raj was wasted in the role given to him Ajay Devgan in his limited screen time shines. Dialogues are written so that people stand up and clap. Most people will find this movie good for entertainment I loved it only because of Alia Bhatt. She is a powerhouse of talent. Found few songs unnecessary. Also if I ever made a matriarchal film my charecter would not swear, drink or smoke in order to show power.
