A nice idea but very predictable and just not good cinema. With a very forced exposition ("Welcome to the family madrigal"), Disney set out to deal with yet another episode of intergenerational trauma. Predictably the story is driven by the odd member of the family. As expected the young heroine sees signs of the future but isn't believed by the conservative (great-)parental generations. So she sets out to fix it by herself and gangs up with the outcast if the family ("we don't talk about Bruno"), the only other family member who was critical to the status quo but seen as a danger.
With honest communication in the family broken, the foundations of the relationships and of the magic beginn to crumble and not until trust and acceptance are restored can the family heal.
Predictable and forced.
