*Spoiler* This movie focuses on important issues -- youth mental health, and the guilt of parents when families are broken up by divorce. I was annoyed with the divorced parents for allowing their son to control them by manipulating their emotions, then truly appalling that the parents removed him from the hospital because of his manipulation and against medical advice. This film at times felt forced, and the situations were sometimes contrived, but the use of flashbacks and Jackman's nuanced performance (Dern did not get the same amount of screen time) were highlights.
