Mesmerizingly haunting story of vocation, singularity, luck and trusting one’s gut against many odds. Barbra is exceptional on so many levels that it could be hard for some to fully relate but the longevity of her career and the lessons inherent to her incredibly unique journey are truly precious for the attentive reader.

Great book clearly but the audiobook has Egerton trying so hard to act every word it’s a buzz kill. He’s nice to look at in the film but when it’s only the audio, it’s annoying. I hope someone gets to the heart of Elton’s childhood and teen age years sometime, to really understand how his musical skills and talent were developed instead of this who’s who of glitz and glitter which will surely sell far more than what I was looking for but is far less interesting imo. The constant mea culpa with the drugs is a tad hypocritical considering all these big superstars would never have made it in this business without being coke heads. The coke and gay mafia of the elites of this world made him as much as his exceptional musical skills did. Behind the apparent spontaneous honesty a lot of nitty gritty truth is still buried.
