Made by the same folks that brought us RBG, this is a spectacular semi-autobiography of a lawyer-priest-pioneer in racial and gender legal equality. The use of video and audio recordings of The Rev. Pauli Murray’s voice helps to make the description more real. Pauli was the same sort of inspiration for Thurgood Marshall and RBG that Dr. Howard Thurman was for the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. And she is probably the most important historical figure that you never heard of in Black Studies and LGBTQ history. Truly ahead of her time. After seeing this documentary, she and her love, Rene, are on my list of people I want to have coffee with in heaven.
