Best book I've read in a long time. So thorough, touching on many aspects of history and life in America that have at best received short, emotionless blurbs in textbooks. There's no sugar coating or bandaids on this American history. Just the brutally honest, tragic, and real stories of the treatment of people of color in the United States of America, and the inspiring and hopeful stories of overcoming persistent and pervasive evil forces of racism.
