Intense, eye opening, riveting. My reaction to this limited series is similar to my reaction to John Grishamโs โStreet Lawyer.โ Both stories give a semi-raw look into the lives of people who are struggling. The John Grisham novel (also has a movie I havenโt seen) portrays the struggles of the homeless population. โMaidโ gives a narrative of a single Mother struggling (something I cannot relate to at all) is also eye opening. Both of these stories make me look at people I see in passing very differently. Although I cannot initiate change for these people, I still feel sympathy for their situations. And thatโs what life is, a series of situations that we navigate. When I put my own situations in perspective, sometimes they pale in comparison to the stories told in these works.
