Another "the west freed me from the clutches if Islam" story with clear misunderstanding of Islam and leaning so desperately to western ideals of feminist freedom, while still pretending to be faithful to culture and faith. 4.6 star average probably given by a bunch of western wanna be liberators. So frustrating 😫 Can't there be a decent story of a normal couple that sees life beyond the hegemonic looking glass? I know thousands of Arabs, and not a single one falls under the western savior model, while most defy it, and the rest fall somewhere in between. This is not representation it's caricature. I only gave it a second star because the writing was nice despite the messaging.
