Review of Kinda Pregnant
Kinda Pregnant starts off as a lighthearted and entertaining comedy, successfully blending humor with an engaging premise. The film keeps you hooked with its fun and quirky moments, making for an enjoyable watch—at least for the most part.
However, as the movie progresses, it starts to lose its spark. The ending feels underwhelming, mainly because there’s little to no real plotting. The story had potential, but it failed to build toward a satisfying conclusion. One of the biggest missed opportunities was Lanny not confessing her fake pregnancy to Josh earlier. A more realistic and engaging twist would have been if Josh found out the truth, only for Lanny to actually end up pregnant with his baby in the end. This would have added depth to the story and made for a stronger emotional payoff.
Not to forget about Fallon, the OG who was mainly the best character I would encounter!
Overall, Kinda Pregnant had the ingredients for a great film—comedy, an interesting concept, and decent performances—but it lacked proper structure and resolution. The humor kept it afloat, but the weak plotting made the final act fall flat. With a stronger script and a more satisfying twist, it could have been much better.
