The Knoblin Festival, meant to honor some of the unique history of Donelson, is officially set for Oct. 3. Organizers said they’re hoping to lock down the area in front of the Donelson Plaza for their location.
As for the name of the festival, it’s a combination of the well-known hill in the neighborhood called Todd Knob and an old wives’ tale that claims a goblin used to steal crops from people in Donelson in the 1800s.
Festival organizers told News 2 during that time, families would close their blinds, draw the curtains, and not go out after dark. Farmers would leave apples, corn, and other crops as an offering so that the Knoblin would leave them alone.
