decorating a bookshelf to feel collected (not staged) is all about having the right pieces. These are things I look for secondhand (or new) to intentionally style in our home! Statement Objects: large or small, that can stand alone as a show piece. Think busts, ceramic or marble objects and objects on a stand. Framed & Unframed Art: paintings or high quality prints that are in a style of art you love. I’m partial to landscapes, still life’s and portraits Marble & Organic Vases: heavy organic vases that are perfect for a few dried stems. Some with handles and in various shapes. Vintage Hardback Books: topics and colors you like to decorate with. I love finding poetry, architecture and classic novels in jewel and earth tone colors. Small ones to stand upright & large to stack laying down. Shallow Bowls: metal and ceramic bowls that sit low and wide but make a statement on their own and don’t need to be filled with anything.
