Microsoft has had enough, defends low-cost Windows 11 PCs against MacBook Neo viral video, praises Dell XPS 13
A viral MacBook Neo vs “Windows laptop” video hit 5.4M views on X, but the comparison was ridiculous. It put Apple’s fanless ultraportable against an HP Victus gaming laptop, a machine built around GPU/cooling trade-offs, not thinness or lid rigidity.
Microsoft responded with the new Dell XPS 13, and this time the comparison actually makes sense.
At $699, the XPS 13 brings a 2.5K touchscreen, 30-120Hz variable refresh, Windows Hello face unlock, Wi-Fi 7, quad speakers, 512GB SSD, lighter 2.2 lb chassis, and upgrade paths up to 32GB RAM.
The MacBook Neo has no touchscreen, no biometrics on the base model, one USB-C port stuck at USB 2.0 speeds, and 8GB RAM as a hard ceiling.
Hardware-wise, Dell wins this round. However, Microsoft’s problem is not the XPS 13.
