Regarding Google's AIOs citing Grok, here is some information about Grok's search visibility. The account x.com/grok/ has surged in visibility over the past year, although it did take a hit recently post-core update. It ranks for 87K queries right now based on ahrefs data and 35.3K in the US. From an AIO perspective, Grok ranks in AI Overviews for 21K queries. For example, like the one below in the screenshots. And from an AI Mode pov, Grok has surged since late 2025, but did take a hit post-May core update. That's the final screenshot. So yes, Grok is being cited in Google's AI surfaces quite a bit.

In my feedly today... a serious red flag when a blog publishes a ton of content *on one day* and all are "How to..." Quick check of the posts, 100% AI-generated content. This will probably not end well for the site. Actually, checking trending over time reveals a "Mt. AI" situation from 2023 (although it probably wasn't AI then, but something scaled quickly and then came crashing down). Anyway, interesting observation from feedly today.

I have covered before how if you drop in Google, you can drop in AI Search (including ChatGPT). Here is a site that got wiped out by Google and AIOs and AI Mode drop heavily. But as you can see, ChatGPT visibility drops heavily as well. And note, Brand Radar updates prompts once per month so it's slower to see a drop with AI search platforms like ChatGPT than with AIOs or AI Mode since they update on a rolling basis. But below, you can see all three dropped heavily. So once again, drop in Google, and drop in AI Search (including ChatGPT).

Heads-up if you are using Brand Radar to track AI Search performance. They released new AIO and AI Mode indexes on May 22 based on prompt data versus keyword data. When ahrefs moved to tracking prompt data versus keyword data in Brand Radar, they added a new platform chooser. When you select AI Overviews there, it's based on the new prompt data and only goes back to April 2026 (March for some sites). The same is true for new AI Mode data since it's based on prompts now. The old keyword-based data is still there, but under "Search Queries" now (at the bottom of the platform chooser). And that will continue to be updated for AIOs. But, AI Mode tracking has been deprecated there for the old keyword data (so it will not continue to update). Historical data is still there, though. So just be aware of this as you analyze AI Search performance in Brand Radar. It can be very confusing when the data only goes back a few months when selecting AIO or AI Mode as the platform.
