Drawing With Jack

A true masterpiece in every sense of the word. A ridiculously slept on horror film. I first watched this film at a halloween hangout with my friends. We had very low expectations for this movie, but we were very pleasantly surprised. By the time the credits rolled, we gave it a standing ovation, because that was the only possible response to have when faced with this brave cinematic gamble. In the opening scene, it subverts the tropes of the classic horror films of yore. As Jason is about to strike, the government officials step out of the bushes. In a bold but realistic approach, the SWAT team opens fire on Jason, with him finally dying, once and for all. The film balances compelling characters with complex motivations and emotions with an incredible action horror flick with a knockout ending. The ending to this film is incredible i can’t even put it into words, and sets up another incredible piece of fiction, where two horror icons fight in the greatest cinematic event of a generation. I leave you with two words. Watch. It. it will be the best decision of your life.
