Yet ANOTHER movie where a Black man is willing to betray all, ruin his life and even die for Emily, Ling-ling, Sunita, anyone except his Divine counterpart; the Black woman. If you don't think about it, it's because you don't have to but just imagine if in nearly every film, Brad was paired with, chasing after, dying for someone other than Emily or Chong was laying up with then laying down his life for Emily or Lashonda, anyone except his own kind. Then you will know how weird, off putting and down right demoralizing it is. We're seriously soooo, tired of this narrative, especially since it isn't statistically true. Most Black men are actually married/partnered with Black women. It would be more understandable if Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson or some other Happa/Bi-racial actor played the part because we know that they might show up with any race of woman but noooo, they always pick the Blackest Black man then make him yearn for some OTHER woman. So, forget the Star Wars, Blade Runner, AI comparisons. The Race pairing propaganda overshadowed all of that. For the scenery of Asia and the special effects which were both great, The Creator gets 2 stars.
