This mornings stories: *Serial killer strangling as many as 90 - many victims thought to be female sex workers - many whose murders were not investigated. *13 year old girl's body found. *NFL player 2 times accused of violence signed with Washington. *Bride-to-be sexually assaulted by the resort butler. The show has been on 45 minutes. This type of reporting tells men that women are easy prey, and tells women that they are hunted. This reporting sensationalizes stories of violence against women. If you are interested in making a difference, spend some time reporting on the average time perpetrators are incarcerated, on state's laws regarding domestic violence, on judges who repeatedly send these criminals back into society, on funding for domestic violence shelters (or lack thereof). All media outlets are equally guilty of this, so I am not singling ABC out - you are just my news source of choice. I loved the soldier reunited with her dog!
