An interesting concept that carries on way too long. The book focuses on two characters and follows their criminal and deceptive exploits throughout their lives.
For me, by the time I was half way through the book, it was already getting tiresome reading about the various scams. Many of the grifts can be anticipated long before the eventual reveal, so it becomes a matter of plowing through the pages to get to the end of the chapter.
It's a shame because I've read many of this author's other books and enjoyed them very much.
