Extremely intelligent and researched book providing a lot of historical context. Just found the characters to be very 2 dimensional without much nuance. As the protagonists are young adults and I think this books would suit similar age readers. It is a passionate and ideological read and I'm sure many will enjoy. But for an older (slightly ๐ฌ ) reader like me who has experienced and lived with prejudice, the narrative doesn't feel as relatable as I hoped. Therefore I struggled to like any of the characters and whilst I enjoyed learning about the history, I unfortunately got bored with reading it which I didn't think I would when I first started the book.
