If you picked this book, it is possible you're battling tough times or thoughts in your life and trust me when I say this book emanates positive vibes only. As promised, it gives you lots of messages on how to elevate your living standard and get yourself out from the vortex of difficulties that is pulling you down. There are things you already know but is probably great to hear from someone else. It briefly gives an insight to Buddhism as a way of life and stresses throughout on chanting which has been the one life changing discovery for Tina herself. Although she's faced a great deal of challenges attributed to a difficult childhood, abusive marriage and health issues among others, she doesn't whine about it rather shows how it is all a part of the journey and given a chance she would choose not to change anything about her life, even the bitter experiences. On the contrary, she emphasizes about the importance of forgiveness, self growth and an important aspect called the human revolution. Giving the readers an idea about Lotus sutra, quoting Nichiren on and off, Tina gives a flavour of the Buddhist ideology in a pragmatic manner drawing instances from her own life experiences. She doesn't force anything on the readers rather let's them decide and introspect. She even talks about interfaith concerts and how music has been an essential part of her spiritual awareness. It a very humble yet strong open letter sort of a narrative giving us a window into the life of a celebrated person like Tina Turner, which is both earnest and modest. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
PS : It is densely filled with quotations from various famous people and is such a treasure trove. These are in separate sections in between chapters and easy to locate.
Happy reading.
