I watched it when it first came out and again recently. The acting was superb, and the story a masterpiece of true psychological horror. There are several horror sub genres, so if you’re into blood and gore with mindless killing with as much spilling guts and brains a possible in 90 minutes, then this film is not for you. However, if you love an intense thriller that has you on the edge of your seat and can appreciate the mind-bending and thought-provoking nail- biter, then you’ll love this. If you loved Get Out, His House, Spell, and Nope, you’re sure to enjoy this winner!

If you love fast-paced jump scare movies that offers up a bloody murder every five minutes, then it’s understandable that this movie would be seen as boring and slow. But if you love dark psychological thrillers that crawls under your skin and forces you to dig deeper than a scream and flying popcorn, then this is the movie for you. Both sub-genres have their appeal, so pick what you like to avoid disappointment.

Excellent actors with a gripping and terrifying story line that keeps you at the edge of your seat. My only disappointment is in reviewers who didn’t like the movie because “the message” did not agree with their own world view. That’s not how this works, folks! With that said, bravo to the writer, director and anyone else involved in making this thought provoking piece. We are all torn between right and wrong, and sometimes we make decisions we believe are right, but don’t always turn out well.

Rotten Tomatoes is absolutely right and every wannabe critic is wrong. This movie brings a brand new look into reality style horror, while also teaching a lesson in caution.

I’ve never hated a cheating husband more and felt more satisfied by the movies end. Brilliant performances all around. Bravo!

Original, genuine, heartfelt and scariest monsters since Alien. Nicolas Cage is back with a vengeance, and the rest of the cast gave stellar performances. The only negative was that I didn’t want it to end.

If you love and understand foreign films including the love of locations, voluminous dialogue, and the lack of irrelevant background music, them this terrifying psychological thriller is for you. Hubby and I have traveled extensively around the world, and have made friends and been invited to visit many. So it’s understandable how this scenario could play out in real life. However, knowing myself, I believe my survival instincts would kick in a bit harder and stronger. The best part of the film was how the tension builds, catching my breath several times. The acting was brilliant and natural.

If you’re only entertained by slasher horror or Marvel mania, then you’ll neither like or understand this psychological thriller. It was slow burning, steady, and menacingly tense. The acting, while understandably dark, was excellent.
