Horizon Forbidden West's gameplay is overshadowed by its excessive dialogue and cutscenes. The story often feels like a long-winded, tedious exposition dump that takes away from the immersive gameplay experience. The game's stunning graphics and combat system can only do so much to compensate for the frustratingly slow pace of the story. While the open-world design allows for exploration, the game's repetitive side quests can feel like a chore.
