Bad effects. Story holes. Characters acting out of character. And too blatant an agenda.
Three episodes of Tennant is a good thing. Davies, not so much. Trans characters, a new gay doctor, trans and bi substories that serve no purpose, and referring to him as a male-presenting time lord. Itโs just too much.
I donโt care about any of the elements as long as they serve the story and are well handled. But when itโs forced in it becomes painful. Doctor Who is meant to be our best sci fi show and yet we still only get a few mediocre episodes per year on average. American shows manage 12-24 episodes of better quality every year and manage to include diversity and inclusion topics in a natural believable way.
My hopes were high but now my expectations are low.
