A wonderfully convincing account of using Freud's understanding of the subconscious mind to motivate the public to buy what they want; and not what they need. I don't think it has gotten much airing in the US. Perhaps that because, being a British project, the language is typically low key, although the message it contains is outrageous. Or is this another effect of popular media outlets giving their audience what they want, instead of what they need?
The ducumentary was published in 2002 - when AI and Algorithms were all but unheard of. The latter technology has furthered Bernay's influence immeasurably.
