This was an excellent analysis of the history of the southern Kibbutzim in Israel, from a compassionate and reliable narrator, inter-woven in his compelling account of his and his young family's survival story from Nahal Oz on October 7th.
I had appreciated Amir Tibon's journalism at Ha'aretz for years before October 7, but now I consider him a must-follow for anyone interested in the current post-October-7 situation in Israel and Gaza. (you'll have to sometimes use twitter's translate option if you don't read Hebrew).
