A truly honest live action adaptation of an animated film.
The visuals and design choices, while not all my absolute favourite (the red death's face looked like a gecko), they didn't change the impact the film had on me. Mason Thames wasn't the worst Hiccup, and Nico Parker was stunning the whole film.
I appreciate the nods to Snotlout's father issues that weren't explained in the animated universe until the cartoons started coming out. I also really appreciated the way they mixed diversity into the film, stating that the vikings and warriors all came from seperate corners of the world and that's the reason why they're ethnically diverse.
The animated films are still my favourite of all time, but I have a solid respect for this film.
