I have mixed feelings about this book, but maybe that’s because I had to read it for school. This book overall taught me a lot about the Wilhelm Gustloff, and more about the war. However, when I started reading I didn’t really have any expectations, but the further into the book I went, the more boring it was for me. It felt like a pretty basic plot and structure, but when I had made it to the sinking of the boat, I had began getting hooked again.
I’d say if you were someone who liked faster paced books, this may not be the one for you, however it was very informational and the ending appealed to me quite a bit. In all honesty, I would rather give this book a 3.5/5 but I decided to round it up.
