The original book is intriguing and has better pace, not to mention spooky prescience. Much ot its plot is forgotten for this long delayed film version despite the author getting the screenplay credit. The film spends far too much time tuning up. The orchestration is weirdly dissonant and the conductor appears to have left the building in search of some more interesting barsโฆ
Hugely disappointing.
