As an agnostic I found the intolerant way in which the central character views religion annoying and rather childish and couldn't help feeling that Mr Brown has similar beliefs. As for the plot. Well, there wasn't really much of one. The supposed earth shattering revelations were quite disappointing and the identity of the Regent was fairly obvious early on. Nice idea, but seems that Mr Brown rushed this one and was mainly interested in pushing his own rather naive views, or beliefs!
