Season one we had a complete storyline with interesting and complex female characters who all had to come together and face their differences to survive on what they thought was a deserted island. It felt honest and real and had a very good foundation to build upon.
In season two we had a completely unnecessary SA storyline and a bunch of new characters that felt disjointed from the rest of the plot. Honestly Iโm completely disappointed. What happened to Shelbyโs deep internalized h**mophobia? How did Dot find out about Tony and Shelby? What about Rachel learning how to deal with having one hand?? There were no scenes about any of that but they were huge build up points from season one.
That screen time instead went to a bunch of new, and annoying male characters (and Kirkin being praised for doing the ABSOLUTE bare minimum and supporting the victim).
I really tried to give all the guys a chance but theyโre just not likeable and honestly should have been just given the whole season because the girls really did feel like the throwaway scenes anyways.
