Barbara Roach

I was so disappointed. Casting in my opinion was terrible. While each in their own right have been excellent in other roles, they were not believable in this film. Nichol did not look, act nor sound like Lucille Ball. Lucille Balls facial expressions could tell a story in itself. Nicole’s face, while pretty could not pull this off. Bardem fell short of being a convincing Cuban Desi with a strong accent that wasn’t present in the film. I don’t recall Ethel ever being “too skinny” and Fred was not tall nor thin. Through out the film I had to remind myself of who the actors were trying to portray. Glad I watched for free on Netflix and didn’t pay in the theatre
