The lore building is great but I feel it was a weak entry to the series. The game mechanics are fantastic but are marred by some poor design decisions. Monster sections cannot be replayed because after you "revive" , you fast forward past the part you died. The dev said this is to emphasize the horror and story telling, not the struggle, but then why make the mechanics so unclear? You will most likely not learn how to get past the monsters until the end of the game; it's like force skipping several puzzles. The focus on story telling is a sob story capped with anti-climatic ending choices. Regardless, the game play itself is excellent and polished.
