I am reluctant to draw parallels between Dantes trilogy and a book of scripture known mainly by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints entitled The Doctrine and Covenants, but in section 76, the Prophet Joseph Smith describes 3 worlds of post mortal existence. In his brief description of the souls that will inhabit the Telestial world, I read of many of the same types of fraudulent and malicious individuals that Dante describes in the inferno. Such prophecy and poetry more than 500 years apart is chilling.
