I enjoyed the book, although the unknown qualities of the "creatures" is a bit disturbing. The concept is really smart - society destroyed by invaders who are non-violent. They attack no one, never break into a home, yet our society falls apart. The necessity to be blindfolded is the real horror. Nice book.

I'll give Mr. King two stars for the obvious work he put into understanding the grunts' experience in Iraq. However, his unbelievable hubris as a writer ruined the book. Only a smug elite would politisize a fiction novel, knowing that about half his readers will be annoyed with his anti Trump nonsense. His message is so clear: "If you are conservative, then I don't want you as a reader." However, jokes on us because he already got our money we paid for his lousy book.
