Drama "Ghughi" comment
It was agreed to watch some episodes of the Pakistani drama "Ghghi" based on the famous novel "Panjar" written in 1950 by Amrita Pritam, a popular writer of the subcontinent and a famous Punjabi poetess, on the subject of the partition of India and the creation of Pakistan. Producers Adnan Siddiqui and Akhtar Hasnain and director Iqbal Hussain tried to film the highly sensitive topic under the banner of "Serial Production" with great effort and dedication and reminisced about the painful moments of the past which were important in the foundation of Pakistan. Played the role.
Set designing played a major role in depicting the environment especially in the 8th/9th decades.
As far as the actors are concerned, most of the old and experiecd artists appeared with their good performance. Among them, the acting of Rashid Mehmood, Mohsin Gillani, Haris Waheed, Hamza Firdous, Khalid Butt is especially commendable.
While there were many good things that took the play by storm, besides there were many flaws and weak direction which caused the audience to get bored with the play.
If the director and producers had carefully watched and compared the film "Pinjar" by Urmila and Manoj Bachpay based on the same novel, before tackling this delicate subject, they would have saved the play from many basic flaws.
Technically, the make-up faces of the characters fail miserably to take the audience by the hand and take them to this period. Asma (Gughgi's mother) despite being a seasoned actress, could not portray the color of the society of that period. The make-up on the face, the dark lipsticks, the eye make-up didn't seem appropriate at all.
Rasheed's mother (Raheela Agha) is an 80-years back village woman with strange comedic hair, 'pointy eyebrows', a make-up painted face, no dupatta, ironed black silk dress with silver buttons, does not express her grief for her daughter and husband. Perhaps she was pretending herself as a mollah jutt of that time.
The role of Puglie was meant to be very important and deep meaning, which was played by a girl with blonded shampooed hair cut and wavy hair in a very saucy manner.
And Ghughi's younger sister was making strange movements and did not miss the eyes at all.
In addition, the 3D scenes in the background in many scenes clearly and distinctly felt still and lifeless in the presence of many other direction flaws.
Yes, of course, the hard work done on many useful things like "pots", furniture, rough houses, etc.
The acting of Rashid Mehmood, Khalid Butt, Mohsen Gilani, Haris Waheed, Hamza Firdous was lively as always.
And the last and final Adnan Siddiqui who tried his best to outdo Manoj Bajpayee but failed miserably.
Overall, this drama with some merits and many flaws is not very good on its audience, but it could leave an average kind of impression on the viewers. .
