I was expecting that we will get upbeat songs or something like grunge / soft rock or something alike avril lavigne self titled album in 2013 ( hush hush / falling fast / hello heartache /give you what you like). The lyrics doesn't surprise me so much like how it did in folklore and evermore. People would probably said "oh it's not for teenage girls it's only for mature people " okay I get it. Don't forget that I found many people said the songs sounds the same and it's boring because of the slow-tempo.
I never hated on any Taylor album previously, this is the first time I'm hating on it. It disappoint me. I love the aesthetics, the photo shoots are 10/10 but sadly not the content. I would say that the genre isn't my style. Maybe it for people who loves this kind of genre but not for me. I miss upbeat songs from Taylor. Tay need to stop doing this genre, it's not her style. She needs max Martin back, for Jack maybe he suits for lana del rey.
I don't get the hypes on the songs and the lyrics? How can yall listen to all of it without getting any bored? The lyrics are cheesy, and weird. The songs literally sounds the same.
The only my favorites are Who's Afraid of Little Old Me, Guilty as Sin?, How Did it End, So High School ( because it mentions gta), The Tortured Poets Department. That's literally like 5/31
EDIT : Additionally, I'm slowly getting annoyed at her and the obsessive fans who praise everything she has done. Tay releasing a multiple version of albums are getting annoying. I'm starting to not agree with her to write songs about her exes. For example, like joe, does she really need to write a whole breakup album after you wrote a few albums about loving him? I mean like you're in your thirties?? I think it's time to stop writing like teenagers, just move on silently
Reminder that it's okay to dislike what your fav artists do. Not everything we can worship.
