Their Eyes Were Watching God is a book about a girl named Janie who is on a journey to find true love throughout her life. During this journey, she has met many obstacles. I enjoyed this book for the most part because it is pretty engaging and historically accurate, considering the time it was written. Overall, I do think that this book is moving a little bit fast. There are some parts that a whole decade was covered in maybe one chapter, and there are times that a couple of months took a couple of chapters, which made me feel harder to track how old Janie is. I do recommend this book, but I found it hard to read during the dialogue since they have a Southern accent. If you like a book that is very historically accurate not caring about the accent in the conversations, you will enjoy the book especially if you also like romance.
