The movie makes women heard. I loved the overall message of the difference between girl hood to woman hood and boy hood to man hood is mirrored with most viewers personaly experiances. The cinema was filled with women and men dressed in pink adding to the theme of barbie and overall unity of women.
It doesnt promote matriarchy or show the characters as "dumb" if you watch it and see that they are dolls portraying each characters as children in the begining being playful and happy. then "growing up" going through adventure valley as barbie goes to find why shes malfunctioning to finally reaching woman hood and man hood when ken and barbie reach the real world.
Barbie is constantly harrassed and ken is praised just because of their gender. You cannot argue that there isnt an oversexualization of women in real life, often by men which is shown in the movie. The movie has beautiful visual effects and makes you feel. i left sobbing and still am because its such a beautiful movie that needs mountains of awards.
