I think there were a lot of nice things about this movie. The premise is interesting, its well-acted for the most part, and it had potential. But i feel that there's a lot wrong with it too.
I don't have a problem with slow paced movies, but this doesn't seem like intentional pacing. The movie drags in places. Scenes that should have been cut were not. This leads to it feeling much longer than it really is.
Its clear that this was meant to be a character driven story, but i feel i don't understand most of the characters. The husband feels like an out of place cartoonish caricature. The burglar is just completely devoid of personality, i feel he was acted the most weakly of all the characters as well as being badly written, and the wife is barely shown until the very end. Her climactic sequence feels like it comes out of nowhere, and not in a good way.
Usually I don't write movie reviews, but i was very frustrated with this film. Not because it was just so bad i had to say something, but because it was mediocre when it had all the pieces to be a perfect movie. I feel like with relatively few changes, this could have been a new favorite for me, and its very frustrating to watch because of that.
