Beautiful cinematography, lighting and scenes which is very indicative of Phillips' style that made the first film so immersive and emotional. I was so happy to see the effort carried through to the second film. A heavy dive into disassociation and trauma response that continues from the first film.
It may have gone over a lot of peoples head, and having a film preference is ok, but the review bombs are a ridiculous indication of group mentality with a lot of reviews not even having a real critique. I share some of the fairer critiques that could have been executed or communicated better in the second film, however, I truly can not believe how petty some people have been in reviewing this film because the internet told them so.
This sequel would sit firmly as a 4-4.5 to me but I am posting 5 stars to try and counter the literal trash reviews that offer no insight or valid critique. If you enjoy deeper psychological thought burgers and appreciate attention to detail in the communication of severe mental health, you will appreciate the efforts of this sequel. A final note to say the dedication to the roles by the actors was incredible.
