I identified with a lot of the difficulties encountered by the participants of this show. If only it had been filmed 20 years ago...
The worrying thing is a majority of the parents filmed, seem to be hanging on to the "child" within their adult children, instead of supporting them as adults - as if this was a new concept to them.
I did like the support shown by the on-set crew (social workers?), who appeared on-screen offering guidance and support to the participants, ensuring they were not exposed to undue pressures and anxieties. A fine example of a support network and to be applauded.
The level of rejection seems high; you do feel for the characters in the show, especially Olivia who was dumped by an ex for being autistic and then dumped on air by a guy who decided after laughing and fooling around with her all afternoon, that there was no click. You could see her heart breaking at that moment 'I'm not crying' (yes you are, we are too).
