5/5 Please read!! I didn’t know what I was getting into when I picked this book up. I’ll be honest, it was a book I picked up when I couldn’t find the other book choices I was looking for. But it was an amazing choice. I loved every bit of the story. Beautifully written, and I loved the emotion it gave me while reading and feeling the dynamics between the characters. It was difficult to put the book down! I am in looove with the descriptive words used, I learned a lot of new words through it too. And I just learned that it’s a retelling(?) of Carmilla (which idk anything about but it will definitely be on my list of books to read)

Sweet and delectable turns twisted and sour.. This book sets the scene perfectly and the climax left my heart beating fast. The gradual unfolding of the story had a real grip on me - go and read it!!

5/5, I highly recommend! If you’re questioning whether to get it - GET IT!! I had to read this book after reading House of Hollow and I am so glad I did. The grip this book had on me!! Compelling, with such beautiful description. And the build up on each girl’s story and experience.. amazing. I am in love with the dark and grotesque scene building, and the choice of vocabulary is just right up my alley! I never knew that a book could leave me feeling this way… GO AND READ IT!!!

I haven’t felt this way about a book in so long. Dark, captivating, gruelling and harrowing. Growing up, getting into reading books was so difficult because the stories and writing style never captivated me enough.. but this had a full grip on me! I could really feel the emotions of the main character through the writing style. And I love the way she describes things - not sure how to describe it, descriptive and almost poetic? I’m absolutely in love with this book. If you’re thinking of reading it - DO!!!
