Great read. Anyone with even a slight interest in WW1 โ WW2 European and American history will love this work. Diehl captures the European turmoil and loss of identity of post-Versailles treaty Germany and the decadence of Prohibition through Great Depression America to develop the main characters of this fictional novel that actually grips the reader so much that you simply lose the ability to anticipate the outcome of WW2. It is a cat and mouse thriller that prevents the reader from putting it down. Each page made me wonder if this book was going to end differently than history taught me
