Ann Stewart

I rarely leave reviews but felt compelled to do so for this series. It is by far, the BEST limited series that I have ever seen! The storyline was beautiful and the acting was incredible. The authenticity of the conflict between Sicilian and American culture was nailed. As someone from Malta which is 60 miles south of Sicily, the roles of Mama and Papa were incredibly moving. The feast scene at the end had me crying buckets as it reminded me of the many feasts I went to as a child. This series managed to pull on all the emotions from anger (to how Amy and her family were disregarded by the medical profession because they were black), to laughter and of course, a lot of tears. I really hope that the Tembi Locke and her sister do more work together as they are an amazing duo!
