the first game is perfect. the second game is *awful*.
what in god's name were they thinking with the story?
the answer: "diversity" and "subverting expectations".
in writing and deving the first game, druckmann was kept in check by bruce straley who shot down druckmann's sophomoric and stupid ideas of 'highlighting the cycle of violence' and 'subverting expectations'. so it comes to no surprise that once straley left naughty dog, druckmann, who is infected with woke ideology, was free to run TLOU into the ground by hiring an inept, woke co-writer halley gross (who also ran westworld into the ground with similar priorities of making the story 'diverse' when she took over for season 3). their MAIN concern was to get rid of the "strong male lead" and add 'diversity' to the mix.
this would have been fine if there was a single likable character introduced in the game, or a single sensible plot line.
but every single new character was thoroughly unlikeable and other than the fireflies killing joel, *nothing happened* in terms of plot.
the combat was good. the graphics were great, but the story was absolute horse waste.
