To all the crybabies whining about โonline onlyโ and review bombing, go touch grass. You guys are the vegans of the gaming world. There are endgame experiences that require matchmaking, which in turn requires online gameplay. If you donโt like that, go play Darksouls for the millionth time. Trust me, the rest of us want you to.
To everyone else interested in the game itself rather than some crusade against the gaming industry, think of this as an adventure and survival game mesh-up. If you like either or both of those, youโll love this game.
While Enshrouded has probably the best building Iโve ever experienced, it will eventually give Valheim vibes in that youโll run out of things to do since the world is hand-crafted, including boss fights.
Where Nightingale excels is its constant ability to deliver a unique(ish) experience for every single player.
With dungeons similar to old school mmorpgs to base defense, this game does a decent job at bringing them all together in a way that works.
The base building is alright, not great but not bad. However, having to defend it against enemies and working through repercussions of befriending or making enemies of different factions is interesting. Then thereโs the dungeons, which are the cherry on top.
Yes some of the mobs are janky, and youโll learn to love and hate anyone you recruit (looking at you Beatrice with axe in hand) but Iโve no doubt this will get ironed out. The boss fights, as well as skirmishes against the Bound, are good enough to keep you on your toes if you selected anything other than easy mode.
